A “Wopila” Grateful Run
To support Native American Youth and their connection to their culturesWhen you run in this race, you follow in the footsteps of generations of Native runners. For hundreds of years, in many Native American communities, running was - and still is - a way of sharing community – of sharing culture, tradition, and language.
Your run will be a way of saying "Wopila" - a thank you for all the indigenous peoples who have upheld these traditions and cultures throughout history. It will also support Running Strong for American Indian Youth to keep paving the way for Native youth and elders to connect to their distinct and unique cultures, whether through indigenous sports, teaching Native languages, supporting Native artisans, or providing education to preserve Native traditions.
Running Strong is able to do incredibly meaningful work because of the support we receive from you, our donors. We invite you to make a difference in the lives of American Indian youth today by donating to our cause. Your contribution will go directly toward supporting our programs.
