COURSE

The FRNY Cross Country Meet will take place on the legendary 5K cross country course at Van Cortlandt Park.  

IMPORTANT: the days prior to the event you will be emailed info about starting procedures.

Starting in front of the Tortoise and Hare Statue, the course proceeds south on the Parade Grounds and turns left onto the "Flats." Runners make their way around the white "tortoise and hare" signs towards the Cowpath, up Cemetery Hill and over the runners' bridge into the backwoods where they will follow the trail back to the parade grounds and finish just past the starting line.

The course is technical, with roots, rocks, and steep hills. There may be muddy areas depending on the weather.

TRANSPORTATION

Take the 1 train to 242nd Street/Van Cortlandt Park. Walk north on Broadway to the Tortoise and Hare Statue. Please check MTA Trip Planner for up-to-date and detailed mass transit directions and Google Maps for driving directions. Parking is limited, we strongly encourage you to use mass transit.
