Daniela Marie Conte was an amazing 8 year old.  Daniela enjoyed doing what most 8 year old girls do such as hanging out with her friends, building Legos, doing puzzles, singing, reading, coloring and spending time with her family.  Daniela was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer, on October 5, 2016, and fought courageously for 4 years.  After a fight like no other, Daniela lost her fight against this terrible disease on March 2, 2020 due to a combination of a fourth relapse and complications from a procedure. The exact underlying cause of Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma is poorly understood and it is the family's wish to help find the cause and cure. 

Daniela’s legacy lives on through the Daniela Conte Foundation, which was created to raise awareness, fund research to develop less toxic, more targeted treatments for childhood cancers with a specific focus on Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS), and financially assist pediatric patients and their families.

Although Daniela was taken from us far too early by her illness in March 2020, her generous spirit lives on through the Daniela Conte Foundation. Daniela showed us all how to live each day to the fullest, enjoying every moment. She reminded us that “giving someone a hug” would  make you happy. Daniela Conte Foundation continues Daniela’s work of bringing happiness, hope and hugs to children with cancer and their families. She remains always on our minds and forever in our hearts. 

Daniela Conte Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization inspired by Daniela’s dreams and wishes, remembering that kids need to be kids, and everyone needs a hug.  

We hope you will partner with us as we continue Daniela’s fight and help us fund Rhabdomyosarcoma research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and cc-TDI (Children's Cancer Therapy Development Institute) and expand hope for Rhabdomyosarcoma cures. Funds will also help families defray expenses as their loved ones battle this devastating disease.
