At this and all Brooklyn Pride events, we celebrate the diversity of our community. We encourage runners to register under the gender identity category (M, F, NB) they prefer.
Brooklyn Pride, Inc. strives to increase visibility, acceptance, and inclusion, ensuring equality for the LGBTQIA+ Community. We achieve this through Pride and community events that commemorate, educate, promote, and celebrate the Spirit of the Stonewall Riots. In continuation of this mission, the Volunteer Grant program seeks to support and celebrate local non-profit organizations that provide direct support services to the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year's Volunteer Grant recipient is Gotham Cheer! They’re a nonprofit adult cheerleading team that was created to give back to those who are in need, particularly LGBTQ homeless or disadvantaged youth. The group has been putting on virtual events and recording videos to spread the love during the pandemic, and the grant will allow them to be able to continue doing so.
