The Total Empower 5K is proud to support Paws of War (www.pawsofwar.org) as our official charitable partner. Just as our race is about pushing forward and becoming stronger together, Paws of War empowers veterans to reclaim independence and confidence through life-changing K9 companions. Through rescue, training, and pairing service dogs with veterans and first responders in need, they create powerful bonds that foster healing and daily support. In consideration of accepting this entry, I understand and agree to be legally bound hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and waive, release and hold harmless Total Empower 5K, elitefeats inc., and any volunteers and all race sponsors and their agents, employees and representatives for any and all injuries, claims, liabilities and causes of action related to my participation in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I further grant permission to any of the foregoing organizations to take and use photographs, video, and recordings or any other record of this event for any purpose whatsoever.

If signed by a parent, the parent agrees to release and hold the above-named organizations and persons harmless of any claims which may be asserted by or on behalf of the entrant as well.

The Total Empower 5K is a community-driven running and wellness experience introduced by Total Physical Therapy, Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine & Total Wellness to celebrate movement, confidence, and personal progress. Created by two organizations dedicated to helping people move better, recover stronger, and live healthier, this event is about encouraging individuals to show up for themselves—wherever they are on their health and fitness journey—and to take one meaningful step forward. This year’s event is proudly aligned with Paws of War, whose mission reinforces the powerful theme of empowerment at the heart of this race.

“Empower” isn’t about speed alone. It isn’t about competition for competition’s sake. It’s about capability. It’s about rebuilding trust in your body, strengthening mobility, and rediscovering what it feels like to move with purpose and confidence. For some, that may mean chasing a personal best. For others, it may mean completing their first 5K, or simply walking the course feeling strong and pain-free. Every version of progress belongs here.

The Total Empower 5K reflects the shared philosophy of Total Physical Therapy and Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine: wellness is personal, progress is not linear, and strength looks different for everyone. This event brings that philosophy into the community through a shared experience—blending physical fitness, mental resilience, and overall wellbeing into a single, inclusive moment.

Our partnership with Paws of War deepens the meaning behind the event. Paws of War works to pair specially trained service and support dogs with veterans and first responders living with physical injuries, PTSD, and other service-related challenges. These dogs are not simply companions—they are highly trained partners that provide stability, emotional grounding, mobility assistance, and a renewed sense of independence. Whether helping a veteran regain confidence in public settings, assisting with daily physical tasks, or offering consistent emotional support during moments of anxiety or trauma, these partnerships create tangible, life-changing impact. Empowerment, in this context, becomes real and visible—restoring dignity, purpose, and forward momentum for those who have sacrificed in service to others.
