SPRING INSIGHT 5K

WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & EVENT TERMS

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING

By registering for and participating in the Spring Insight 5K, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Registration Policy

All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, including transfers to future events. Once registration is completed, fees are allocated toward event production, logistics, and operational expenses and cannot be returned under any circumstances.

2. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in a running event involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to: falls, collisions, weather conditions, dehydration, overexertion, equipment failure, traffic hazards, and interactions with other participants or the environment.

I voluntarily choose to participate and assume all known and unknown risks, including injury, illness (including but not limited to COVID-19), property damage, or death.

3. Health Declaration

I certify that I am physically and mentally fit to participate in this event and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I take full responsibility for monitoring my condition before, during, and after the event.

4. Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I hereby waive, release, and hold harmless:

Purpose Runners Foundation, Spring Insight 5K, Insight Run Club (X Insight), elitefeats Inc., all event organizers, directors, volunteers, sponsors, partners, vendors, and their respective agents, employees, and representatives

from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation in this event, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Course, Safety & Event Conditions

I acknowledge that the event takes place in an open environment and may include roadways, public paths, and variable terrain. I agree to follow all event rules, course markings, and instructions provided by staff and volunteers.

I understand that event conditions, including weather or unforeseen circumstances, may impact safety and execution.

6. Weather, Cancellation & Event Policy

In the event of severe weather or circumstances beyond the organizers’ control (force majeure), the event may be delayed, modified, or canceled for safety reasons.

In such cases, participants will be informed of the date, time, and location to pick up their event kit, including finisher medal, race bib, and event shirt (if purchased).

All registration fees are non-refundable and will be allocated toward event operational expenses and the event’s primary cause: supporting summer programs for children in Newark.

Participant safety will always remain the highest priority.

7. Photo & Media Release

I grant full permission to the event organizers and affiliated parties to capture and use my image, likeness, voice, and participation in photographs, videos, or other media for promotional, marketing, and commercial purposes, without compensation or approval.

8. Minor Participation

If this registration is completed on behalf of a minor, the parent or legal guardian agrees to all terms stated herein and assumes full responsibility, waiving and releasing all claims on behalf of the participant.

9. Legal Agreement & Governing Law

I understand that this waiver constitutes a binding legal agreement, and that I am waiving significant legal rights, including the right to sue.

This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey.

By completing my registration, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to all terms stated above, and that I am participating freely and voluntarily.
