Every other breath you take? Thank the ocean. The seafood on your plate, the jobs, the recreation, the joy — the ocean gives us all of it. We need the ocean. And right now, from pollution to climate change, the ocean needs us.
It needs champions. That's what the Healthy Ocean Coalition builds: a community of people — young adults to grandparents — who believe anyone can be an advocate for a healthy ocean. Together, we amplify each other's voices loud enough for those in power to hear, and we push for change that is effective, immediate, and lasting.
This fall, we're diving in with our 3rd Annual Creepy Ocean Critter 5K Your Way — our virtual race you can run, walk, swim, or bike however (and wherever) you like. Channel your favorite eerie ocean critter, from anglerfish to giant squid, and move for the ocean.
Every dollar you raise fuels our flagship Healthy Ocean Advocacy Academy, which trains everyday people into effective ocean champions. Your donation helps:
❖ Keep the Academy free — so anyone with the passion to protect the ocean can join, no matter their means.❖ Support our graduates with advocacy and communications help as they lead campaigns to protect their own communities and coastlines.❖ Amplify their voices through Voices of a Healthy Ocean, our multimedia advocacy platform.
We've already trained 350+ advocates. With you, we'll train the next wave.
