You’ve found the perfect plan. The FeatFirst Training Program is built especially for first-time Half and Full Marathoners, with the coaching, structure, and support you need to cross the finish line with confidence.

5K and 10K runners welcome too!

Whether you're just getting started or pushing to a new personal best, our experienced coaches and supportive community will keep you motivated every step of the way.



The FeatFirst run program is designed to help you improve with guidance of an Olympic marathoner and coach Jane Vongvorachoti. The entire program is not sent out as a full program. You must attend a session at minimal to be added to a group chat where weekly programs are sent and discussed. The program is guided and tips are given to how to run each session so improvement is achieved. Last season we had many personal bests achieved and many new runners ran many firsts of different race distances. We cannot wait to see you out there!

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to be ready to start exactly at 6pm. For those who need longer warmup more than 10 minutes, please arrive before 6pm to get this done. 

Prior to March 10 meeting: if you are training for a spring marathon or half marathon. Make sure you are logging few runs per week easy at minimum and be sure to be adding onto your long runs no more than 10% each week. Coming into the March 10 week it is ideal if your longest run has hit 7-8 miles for half marathoners and 10-12 miles for marathoners as a suggestion.


What to expect:

🚀 Helping You Reach Marathon, Half Marathon Goals or to a PR in the 5K!

FeatFirst is a FREE structured training program designed for first-time half marathoners and marathoners, as well as ALL runners looking to set a personal best. This 18-week program includes weekly midweek practices, training plans, and race-day preparation.

  • Group Training Runs
  • Learn proper stretching, warm up drills, how to increase mileage and endurance and much more!
  • Discussion topics from nutrition and injury prevention to running gear
  • Emailed Training guides and handouts
  • All participants registered by May 5 have the option of purchasing a short sleeve tech tee with their names on the back - perfect for training!
  • No age restrictions! If your child wants to learn to run, feel free to sign them up! We just ask that anyone 16 and younger is accompanied by a parent.

📅 Program Details:

Start Date: March 10 (16-week program)
Weekly Practice: One evening per week (hydration & electrolyte stations provided)
Location: East Meadow's Eisenhower Park 

Training Focus:

  • Block Tempo Runs: 30-40+ min @ half marathon pace or 30-40 seconds slower than 5K race pace.
  • Progression Runs: 60-80 min progressing from easy pace to 10K/5K pace

  1. Milestone Plan: Our low-mileage plan includes 3–4 training days per week with structured walk breaks built in. It’s perfect for anyone aiming to finish their first Half or Full Marathon, and also a great fit for runners returning from injury or looking for a gentler approach.
  2. PR Plan: Designed for runners with experience under their belt, this plan features moderate mileage (4–6 days per week) and is ideal for those looking to improve their time in the Half or Full Marathon. It’s also a great fit for competitive runners attempting their first longer-distance race with performance in mind.
  3. Podium Plan: This high-mileage plan includes 6–7 training days per week and is built for serious competitors. It’s designed for those ready to fully commit to their training, with the goal of achieving significant performance gains and potential age group podium finishes on race day.

Athlete Engagement: Motivation, pacing, and individualized coaching support.

Race Prep & Community Building: Encourage weekend racing and help you stay engaged in the local running scene.

I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I further grant permission to any of the foregoing organizations to take and use photographs, video, and recordings or any other record of this event for any purpose whatsoever.

If signed by a parent, the parent agrees to release and hold the above-named organizations and persons harmless of any claims which may be asserted by or on behalf of the entrant as well.
