TRACKING YOUR DISTANCE

  • Lines On a Track and what they mean
  • Treadmill
  • MapMyRun.com
  • Many parks have measured 'fitness' trails open to the public
  • Download free app Strava & hit 'Record'

TIMED EVENTS

To measure how far you can run in 5 seconds, 20 seconds, or 1 minute Use a measuring tape to map out a “course,” use a GPS watch, use a cell phone with the Strava App, use Google Maps and input your route as walking directions, or any other means that works for you.

FIELD EVENTS

Standing Long Jump  From a standing, still position, jump as far forward as you can! Measure the distance traveled. Best out of 3 attempts.

16oz Can of Food Toss  From a standing, still position, throw a 16oz can of food as far as you can! Measure the distance traveled. 1 attempt only. This may be messy, so we recommend doing this event outside.

Plank  From a standard plank position (on forearms or push up position), time how long you can hold the position.
