Join us! As the kick off to our Brooklyn Friends School Spirit Week, “Jog4Justice” is a part of a series of events looking to combat homophobic and transphobic behaviors in the community through education and the implementation of active understanding and allyship instead of tolerance.
Set to take place at 10 am on Sunday, October 25 in Prospect Park, “Jog4Justice” is a 5k fundraiser race in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign. We are looking to raise money for LGBTQIA+ youth and provide resources for those in need. This event is to celebrate the queer community while bringing awareness to global issues that are often overlooked.
Local nonprofits supporting a number of communities will be in attendance, urging our community to develop their global citizenship. We encourage people to participate in this event in any way they can. While it is a race, you are welcome to walk and are under no obligation to run. This event is about coming together as a community and taking the necessary steps in order to create change. Bring your friends, neighbors, family, dogs - everyone is welcome! If you are interested in volunteering for event set up or donating to the cause both are great ways to support. We look forward to having you!
