Proceeds go to The McGarry “Love in Action” Foundation, Inc. to raise awareness and funds to set up foster children for a life that they can look forward to and where they can be successful. Our foundation also seeks to provide financial support to families that are going through the hardship of dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Nor are they transferable from year to year. Once you are signed up, race fees are used for race expenses and cannot be returned.

In consideration of accepting this entry, I understand and agree to be legally bound hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and waive, release and hold harmless EVENT NAME Run/Walk, HOST VENUE / TOWN elitefeats inc., and any volunteers and all race sponsors and their agents, employees and representatives for any and all injuries, claims, liabilities and causes of action related to my participation in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I further grant permission to any of the foregoing organizations to take and use photographs, video, and recordings or any other record of this event for any purpose whatsoever.

If signed by a parent, the parent agrees to release and hold the above-named organizations and persons harmless of any claims which may be asserted by or on behalf of the entrant as well.

BENEFICIARY

The McGarry “Love in Action” Foundation, Inc. was created in honor of my amazing parents, Kris, and Joe McGarry. They were foster parents in Nassau County for over thirty years, taking in countless foster children into their home. During that time, it became clear to them that the system was not preparing these foster children for success after they aged out of foster care. We seek to change that. We seek to raise awareness and funds to set up these young adults for a life that they can look forward to and where they can be successful in whatever endeavor they set out to do. Our foundation also seeks to provide financial support to families that are going through the hardship of dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Both of my parents passed away from cancer, and we experienced the time and the financial demands of such a diagnosis. We seek to ease such burdens so that families can spend quality time with their loved ones and take care of what’s important. My father was a former Marine and retired NYPD Officer, and he understood the importance of never leaving anyone behind as he provided a tremendous amount of support to his fellow police officers suffering from illnesses caused by their time at Ground Zero. It was his time at Ground Zero that would eventually take his life some 2 decades later. We would like to continue that work through our foundation.

BIB PICKUP

In-Person Early Pickup: Available on 10/10 at Sand City Brewing Co. at 150 S. Wellwood Ave. Lindenhurst NY, 11757 (between 5-7PM) There will be a Grand in Hand Raffle!

In-Person Race Day: Please see the event staff starting one hour before the event start time.

  • Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Race Number!
  • You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area. 
  • If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup you will be texted your bib number within 90 seconds or click on Bib Lookup above.

Virtual (if applicable): Are shipped to you! Shipping window ranges from one week prior to the event to one week post event.
