Take the Plogging Challenge:
Rising Hearts is continuously inspired by community. And a fellow friend and community member is making running and picking up trash, a fashionable and fun thing to do as we care for the lands and community. Tina Muir, hosts the Running For Real Podcast and believes running is a vehicle for social change, co-author of Becoming a Sustainable Runner, and environmental and sustainability advocate, has made "plogging" a fun community act in caring for the environment. Let's do our part, whether big or small, to leave the lands and environment in a better place for the next generations!

Incentive Specifics for Plogging Group + Personal Challenge:
+ When you participate in the group challenge, this is for people who are meeting up in person to run/walk and pick up trash while doing it. Submit your photos to elitefeats and email: [email protected] with your photos, a list of those attended, First, Last Name, Mailing Address, and shoe size

+ When you participate in the Personal Challenge, this is for individuals running, walking, biking, being outside, and collecting trash while doing it. What is Plogging?
Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter, merging the Swedish verbs plocka upp (pick up) and jogga (jog) gives the new Swedish verb plogga, from which the word plogging derives.

We invite you to take the challenge to go plogging, collect as much waste as you can, take a photo and submit via Elitefeats, tag @rising_hearts on IG, and you can email it at [email protected] as well.

"Running is medicine. Running is tradition. Running is healing. Running is prayer. Running is community. Indigenous people are known for running for the messages they carry for the prayers they carry for the tradition it brings. We run together as relatives, as a community, to recognize and celebrate Indigenous people! To acknowledge the past and what Native people have had to experience to be here today. We celebrate the present existence of Indigenous people and all the good medicine we bring to our relatives and to the lands. As we look ahead we have the opportunity to dismantle current systems of oppression and racism and rebuild a better and visible future! Our relatives across Turtle Island (North America) are sharing so much of their hard work to support their communities and build a future for our next generations. This virtual race is to bring and call people in to support Indigenous People,  uplift the real history and stories, their strength, and their resilience because we are still here! We are thriving.
