What better way to start off your Brooklyn Pride Saturday than with a morning 5K (3.1 mile) LGBTQIA+ fun run? You'll be joined by hundreds of runners from across NYC and beyond as you race through scenic and historic Prospect Park.

The race is sponsored by Brooklyn Pride and presented by Maimonides Health in partnership with Front Runners New York.

Brooklyn Pride is one of the largest and most prominent organizations serving Brooklyn’s LGBTQIA+ community, putting on an entire week of festivities to celebrate Brooklyn Pride Week. The organization strives to increase visibility, acceptance, and inclusion, ensuring equality for the LGBTQIA+ Community. We achieve this through Pride Week and other community events that commemorate, educate, promote, and celebrate the Spirit of the Stonewall Riots. In continuation of this mission, the Volunteer Grant program seeks to support and celebrate local non-profit organizations that provide direct support services to the LGBTQIA+ community. Be sure to review all of the event information below the registration section for answers to your burning questions about the race!

Brooklyn Pride, Inc. is accepting applications for the program from now until May 1, 2025. If selected, the organization will agree to provide a minimum of 5 volunteers for a Brooklyn Pride event, either the LGBTQIA+ 5K, the Street Festival, the Twilight Parade, and the Brooklyn Pride Youth Pride to receive a grant. There will be no same-day registration

Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized bib with your race number, name, and pronouns (if you'd like)!
You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area.
If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup you will be texted your bib number within 90 seconds or click on Bib Lookup above.

AMENITIES

Every runner will receive a specially-designed Brooklyn Pride Run t-shirt and a custom engraved Brooklyn Pride Run finisher’s medal.
At the race, there will be a bag drop area to stow your belongings and portable facilities for that last-minute nature break. Water, provided by our friends at smartwater, and snacks will be provided post-race to celebrate your achievement.

AWARDS

Brooklyn Pride, Inc. will recognize the top finishers in each gender category at the conclusion of the race and at the Brooklyn Pride Street Festival in the afternoon.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's the easiest way to get to the start line?
The closest entrance to the start line is the Bartel-Pritchard Square, which is located at the intersection of Prospect Park West and 15 Street. The F / G subway lines are the most convenient and stop at 15 Street - Prospect Park. The B68 and B61 bus lines also stop at this intersection. Please check the MTA website for routes and times.

Is there a bag drop?
Yes, we'll have a place for you to keep your belongings while you run. Note that it may not be covered from the elements in the event of inclement weather. Please avoid bringing valuables.

My child would like to participate - can they?
They sure can! While there's no age restriction, we also want to make sure that everyone is safe as they make the loop of the park. It is also worth noting that we do not have youth t-shirt sizes.

Can I run with a stroller?
If you would like to participate with a stroller, we simply ask that you start at the back of the pack for the safety of you, the stroller passenger[s], and your fellow runners.

Can I run with my dog?
Unfortunately, due to liability reasons, we do not allow dogs to participate in the race. As much as we love our furry friends, we need to keep everyone, including them, safe.

I can't make the race. Can I get a refund or transfer my bib to another person?
We cannot accommodate refunds or transfers due to resourcing and commitments that were made when you registered. However, we are happy to switch your entry to a donation to Brooklyn Pride, Inc.

Oh no! The race is sold out but I really want to run. Is there any way that I can participate?
Due to restrictions from the Parks Department and ensuring that we have sufficient resources for all participants, we are capped at the total number of participants and cannot accept any more runners.

You may see a mention of the group or coupon code to register - this is for groups participating that may still have individuals that need to sign up.

We hope that you will be able to attend some of the other events that are happening for Brooklyn Pride, and if you want to volunteer, we've got opportunities for that, too!

GROUP REGISTRATION

Brooklyn Pride welcomes organizations to get involved with our event. For groups of ten people or more, please reach out to the race organizers at [email protected] for more information about special pricing.

NOTE: Group registration requires a single, upfront payment for all participants. Each individual must register in advance using a code provided upon receipt of the group payment.
