This event will feature a team competition whereby participants can create a team of at least three members with the top three scoring members matched against the top three from other teams.
Team Rules
- Teams can be male or female
- Each team must have at least three members
- A team captain must submit a team name upon registering
- Participants can add their names to their team upon registration after the team had been formed
- Winning teams will be scored based on actual time
- Each winning team will receive a special gift certificate
BIB PICKUP
In-Person:
Tesla Science Center - 5 Randall Road, Shoreham, NY 11786
Friday, June 6th from 11:00am to 2:00pm and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
Saturday, June 7th from 7:15am to 8:15am at the table labeled “Packet Pick-up.
- Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Race Number!
- You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area.
- If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup you will be texted your bib number within 90 seconds or click on Bib Lookup above.
Virtual: Shipped to you! Shipping window ranges from one week prior to the event to one week post event.

What are the directions to the Tesla Science Center?
From the Long Island Expressway
- Take exit 68 north to the end and turn left onto route 25A
- Proceed about one mile west on route 25A to Randall Road
- Turn right onto Randall Road and the entrance will be on the right
From Route 25A Going East
- Turn left onto Randall Road and the entrance will be on the right
From Route 25A Going West
- Turn right onto Randall Road and the entrance will be on the right

Is there race day registration?
Yes…at the Tesla Science Center from 6:30am to 8:00am
Where and when is bib and shirt packet pick-up?
Tesla Science Center:
- Friday June 6th from 11:00am to 2:00pm and from 5:00pm to 8:00pm
- Saturday June 7th beginning at 7:15am.
Course maps and final instructions will be included as part of packet pick-up.
Is there an area for personal packet drop off?
Yes…at the designated area marked “Packet Drop Off”
Where is the staging area for post race ceremonies?
Tesla Science Center
How far is the 5K from the staging area?
10-15 minute walk from Tesla Science Center to the 5K start line (.6 miles)
15-20 minute walk from the finish line to the staging area (.8 miles)
Where are the start lines?
5K starts at John Street which is 1,000 feet east of Miller Avenue
Kids’ Fun Run starts outside the Tesla Science Center on the North Shore Rail Trail as an out and back
How do we get to the start line?
All registrants must stay within the staging area for welcoming remarks, final instructions, and the national anthem. Volunteers will lead registrants from the staging area to the start line.
Is the course well marked?
The course is well marked on the ground in addition to volunteers at key turn streets with signs along the way.
Will there be police stationed at key intersections?
Yes…especially on North Country Road
Where is the finish line?
Bottom of Southgate which is 100 feet north of North Country Road
How will I get my results?
Once crossing the finish line, elitefeats will send you a text reporting your finish time, pace, age graded time, along with overall, gender, and age group placement at that point of the race.
How do we get from the finish line back to the staging area?
Volunteers will be at key spots to direct finishers back to the staging area. After crossing the finish line at Southgate, finishers will cross North Country Road and turn right along the sidewalk to Miller Avenue. Turn left onto Miller Avenue and proceed to the North Shore Rail Trail on the right. Follow the trail back to the entry gate to the staging area.
What happens when entering the staging area after the event?
Each finisher will be directed to the food and refreshment lines
What are the awards presentation and where?
Awards will be presented at the Tesla Science Center staging area starting at 10:15am
- Plaques to top 3 overall male and female
- Plaques to top 3 male and female masters (40-59) age graded
- Plaques to top 3 male and female senior masters (60+) age graded
- Plaque to top male and female wheelchair
- Medals to top 3 male and female in 5 year age groups (under 14, 15-19, 20-24, to 80+).
- $50 gift certificate to top male and female team competition winner
- Plaque to the team with the most members
Will there be free photos available to everyone?
Yes…there will be photos taken both at the finish line and on the course at the 1.2 mile as you turn right from North Country road onto Southgate?
Do I receive a finisher certificate displaying time and finish line photo?
Yes…Results will be posted on the Elitefeats website and one can download their certificate and finish line photo.
How can I obtain my award if I cannot stay for the awards ceremony?

Will there be refreshments at the end of the event?
Yes…at the staging area there will be bagels, pizza, ices, ice cream, bananas, sodas, and water.
Are strollers permitted on the course?
Yes
Are pets permitted on the course?
No
Are there water stops on the course?
Yes…at the intersection of Soundview and Mary Pitkin Path – 1.5 mile and 2.5 mile marks

How will the raffle work?
Those registered by midnight June 6 th are in the raffle with their bib numbers being pre selected during the race and posted on a board immediately after the race. There will be more than 40 gift cards totaling over $2,000 as part of the raffle. Winners will look on the board to see if they have won and pick up their winning gift card at the raffle winner table.
Is there a cutoff for guaranteeing a shirt?
Registrants are guaranteed a shirt if registered by May 31st
Can I exchange my shirt for a different size?
One can exchange their shirt after the race based on size availability
Can I opt not to take a shirt?
You can choose not to receive a shirt upon registering and take a $5 discount off your registration fee
Will there be finisher medals?
5K finishers receive a special commemorative finisher medal upon crossing the finish line
Kids receive a medal for completing the fun run
What are the registration fees?
Registration fees include a processing fee as follows:
- $28.63 thru March 31 st
- $33.80 from April 1 st thru May 31 st
- $38.98 from June 1 st thru June 6 th
- $44.15 on race day
- $44.15 at all times for a virtual event
