To kick off Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness month, YWCA Greenwich is hosting the 2024 Walk the Walk & 5K Run Against Domestic Violence. This annual event supports The Harmony Project to raise funds and awareness for free domestic and sexual violence services at YWCA Greenwich, including counseling, crisis intervention, emergency shelter, criminal court advocacy, and a 24/7 hotline.

This event is pet and stroller friendly!


All registrants receive a Walk the Walk & 5K Against Domestic Violence t-shirt while supplies last!

ABOUT

About YWCA Greenwich: Founded in 1919, YWCA Greenwich is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. YWCA Greenwich provides programs for people of all ages and genders with initiatives that include preschool and after school programs, aquatics programs, youth athletics, health and fitness programs and seminars focusing on racial justice and women’s empowerment. Additionally, YWCA Greenwich is the only provider of both domestic and sexual violence services in Greenwich, with staff who are licensed to provide crisis intervention, counseling, shelter, and victim advocacy. These services are free.

BENEFICIARY

Harmony Project of YWCA Greenwich is committed to the physical safety and emotional well-being of adults and children who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.  We provide client-focused services that are inclusive, healing, and empowering.

  • Last year, The Harmony Project provided direct services to 674 victims, the majority of whom were women and children.
  • The Harmony Project fielded 3,641 calls to it 24/7 hotline and worked closely with Greenwich Police on 139 family violence incidents.

Your participation in today’s event enables YWCA Greenwich to continue to serve the most vulnerable in our community and helps our friends, neighbors and family members stay safe.


BIB PICKUP

IN PERSON EVENTS: Please see the event staff starting at 8:15AM.

  • Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Run Number!
  • You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area. 
  • If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup you will be texted your bib number within 90 seconds or click on Bib Lookup above.

    VIRTUAL: Your bib will be shipped to you. Please be sure you provide your shipping address while registering. If you don't get your bib in the mail, please use the live chat at elitefeats.com, and we'll send a new one after confirming your shipping address (include an apartment number if applicable)
