We are bringing back the Sunnyside Post Mile for the eighth year.

Halloween costumes are encouraged.  All registered participants get a free Sunnyside Post Mile t-shirt.
Proceeds will be used to aid in the continuation of SCS programs that are underfunded.

SKILLMAN DASHES
Children’s Skillman Dashes begin at 10:45 a.m. and will line up on Skillman Avenue close to 45th Street, running towards the Mile finish line at 44th Street. Ribbons for all Dashers will be given after each Dash. 

The Dash Distances are As Follows
50 yards - 2-5 year olds
100 yards - 6-9 year olds

Sunnyside Community Services (SCS) is a community-based nonprofit centered on the belief that every person deserves meaningful support to achieve their aspirations – especially struggling families and individuals. SCS serves a diverse community of over 16,000 people of all ethnicities and income levels throughout Queens with programs that range from pre-K to college and career readiness, immigrant services, home care and home health aide training, Beacon and Cornerstone community centers for children and families, a vibrant senior center and full range of services for at-risk older adults including social adult day care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, and a city-wide program of supportive services for those who care for them.  With programs designed to enrich lives and strengthen communities through services and engagement for individuals at all ages, beginning with those most in need, SCS has been lighting up lives with programs as diverse as the people they serve since 1974.  For more information visit www.scsny.org or email [email protected].

Registration fees are used toward race expenses and cannot be returned once you sign up.

Nor are they transferable from year to year. Once you are signed up, race fees are used for race expenses and cannot be returned.

In consideration of accepting this entry, I understand and agree to be legally bound hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and waive, release and hold harmless The Sunnyside Post Mile, Sunnyside Community Sevices, Queens Post, Sunnyside Post, Woodside-Sunnyside Runners, elitefeats inc., and any volunteers and all race sponsors and their agents, employees and representatives for any and all injuries, claims, liabilities and causes of action related to my participation in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I further grant permission to any of the foregoing organizations to take and use photographs, video, and recordings or any other record of this event for any purpose whatsoever.

If signed by a parent, the parent agrees to release and hold the above-named organizations and persons harmless of any claims which may be asserted by or on behalf of the entrant as well.

BENEFICIARY

More than 16,000 people a year find the help they need at Sunnyside Community Services (SCS), located in the heart of western Queens. SCS provides options for the whole family, from free full-day pre-kindergarten classes to college and career readiness programs, a vibrant center for active older adults, flexible home care options that allow older adults to live independently and safely at home, and a social adult day program for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. SCS offers free Home Health Aide (HHA) training and employment opportunities, English language classes, benefits assistance programs, and a city-wide service to support caregivers of loved ones with serious illnesses.  Sunnyside Community Services has been “lighting up lives with programs as diverse as the people they serve” since 1974. BIB PICKUP

Friday, October 25 from 6:00-8:00 pm: Bib/T-shirt pickup + registration at Sunnyside Community Services, 43-31 39th St., Sunnyside, NY
Saturday, October 26 from 8:00 am: Race Day Central, near 43rd St. and Skillman Avenue, Sunnyside, NY

  • Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Race Number!
  • You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area. 
  • If you register within 24 hours of bib pickup you will be texted your bib number within 90 seconds or click on Bib Lookup above.

COURSE

PET & STROLLER POLICY
Leashed dogs are invited to run or walk with their owners for the mile. However, we ask that they line up at the back before the event begins for a staggered start. Parents pushing strollers will be able to participate. Children under the age of two (2) years riding in a stroller do not have to register.
