The "Over The Bridge" 5K & 10K is the event for Participants/Sponsors who want to support Guide Dogs For The Blind & Assistance Dogs for Returning Veterans.

The Hampton Bays Lions Club is a community service organization supporting charitable works in Hampton Bays and East Quogue since 1948. Last year thru this event the Lions Club sponsored six Seeing Eye dogs for those in our community in need.  Three of the dogs are designated for returning wounded Veterans and three for persons with blindness living in our area.   We financially contribute to The Smithtown Guide Dog Foundation and Canine Companions for Returning Veterans, scholarships for deserving students in the Hampton Bays and Westhampton districts, local churches, the Dominican Sisters, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League, Maureen’s Haven, and the St. Rosalie’s food pantry to name a few.

Registration fees are used toward race expenses and cannot be returned once you sign up.

ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

Nor are they transferable from year to year. Once you are signed up, race fees are used for race expenses and cannot be returned.

In consideration of accepting this entry, I understand and agree to be legally bound hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, successors and waive, release and hold harmless Over the Bridge 5K & 10K, Hampton Bays Lions Club, Town of Southampton, elitefeats inc., and any volunteers and all race sponsors and their agents, employees and representatives for any and all injuries, claims, liabilities and causes of action related to my participation in this event. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for the completion of this event and that my condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor. I further grant permission to any of the foregoing organizations to take and use photographs, video, and recordings or any other record of this event for any purpose whatsoever.

If signed by a parent, the parent agrees to release and hold the above-named organizations and persons harmless of any claims which may be asserted by or on behalf of the entrant as well.

ABOUT

The Hampton Bays Lions Club is a community service organization supporting charitable works in Hampton Bays and East Quogue since 1948.

The motto of the Lion’s Club is “We Serve” and we have worked hard to fulfill that motto.   While several local organizations have benefitted from our fundraising efforts throughout the years, our main focus is to raise money and awareness for those who are sight and hearing impaired and those in need of guide dogs.

BIB PICKUP

  • You must register at the Hampton Bays Middle School on Ponquogue Ave. between 7:00-8:30 AM, so that you can be bused to the starting area at Warner’s Park on the South Side of the Ponquogue Bridge.  
  • Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Race Number!
  • You must know your bib number in order to pick up your bib. If you do not know your bib number there will be a Self Lookup area. 
  • Your bib number will be texted or emailed to you at least 2 hours prior to bib pickup.
  • No Vehicular traffic allowed at Warner’s Park.

COURSE

Our unique race course highlights the beautiful vistas along the Atlantic Ocean, Shinnecock Inlet, Shinnecock Bay offering extraordinarily, breathtaking views from the Ponquogue Bridge. The route showcases the residential neighborhoods of Hampton Bays. While the course is generally flat and fast, it also includes the exhilarating challenge of crossing the Ponquogue Bridge.

No Roller Blades,  Headphones,  and Animals are prohibited from participating in this race. All participants under twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
