The mission of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF) is to raise funds for the restoration and development of the historic Montauk Playhouse, creating a vital community center for the arts, education, recreation and human services for Montauk and the East End.
The swim course is in the ocean beyond the break, swimming parallel to the shore line. All races finish at Kirk Park Beach. The three courses are:
• 2 mile: is a loop course starting at Kirk Park beach swimming ½ mile east to Bounce beach (at Essex Street), turn around and swim 1 mile west (past race start), then a final turn and swim ½ mile east back to Kirk Park Beach to finish.
• 1 mile: is an out and back: starting at Kirk Park beach swimming east to Bounce Beach for a ½ mile, then turn around to swim ½ mile west to Kirk Park beach finish.
• ½ mile: will start ½ east at Bounce beach at Essex Street. Swimmers will walk down the beach to the race start, and then swim ½ mile west to finish at Kirk Park Beach.
Swim courses will be clearly marked with buoys and guarded by East Hampton Ocean Rescue lifeguards. EHVOR may modify courses on race day depending upon currents.
- 6:00 am: On-site registration and check-in opens at Kirk Park Beach parking lot
- 6:30 am: 2-mile swimmers begin
- 7:30 am: approximately 1-mile swimmers start
- 8:00am: approximately ½ mile swimmers start
- 9:00am: Race Ends
There will be a mandatory race briefing at swim start locations 15 minutes prior to race start time.
