Rising Hearts
Rising Hearts is an Indigenous-led grassroots group devoted to elevating Indigenous voices and promoting intersectional collaborative efforts across all movements with the goals of racial, social, climate, and economic justice. Our Primary focuses are to inform, elevate, mobilize, and organize through strategic and targeted advocacy, establishing collaborative partnerships to help create a better and safer future and environment for all of our relatives who inhabit this planet, past, present and future.

The letters spell out SPACE
Without even realizing it, the letters of the name spell out what I believe we all need. SPACE. A space of our own, to gather whenever we would like. A space to do our crafts and arts. A space where we are safe and not going to be rushed out. A space to just be.....
This first fundraising campaign will help support the creation of our organization. Monies will go towards website development, online visibility, and needed supplies to furnish a space and office.
Our Goal: Through participation and education in the arts, training, and tribal environmental protection initiatives, we envision a society where the history, wisdom, and traditions of the Chumash people are respected and celebrated. We will empower our Chumash population by fostering a deep connection between generations, educating the local indigenous community and the surrounding communities, promoting understanding and appreciation for the history, traditions, and craftsmanship of our people. By sharing these skills, remembering what it is to live sustainably, and embracing our indigenous perspective, we aim to inspire a profound appreciation for our heritage, a deeper connection to the natural world, and to build capacity and resilience within our community. Our youth will be fortified with the knowledge, confidence, and passion to protect and advocate for our territories, culture, and future generations, ensuring a legacy of strength and stewardship long after we are gone.
