ABOUT THE RACE
The Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is a community-driven event designed to raise money to fight cancer. This year's benefactors are the John Theissen Children's Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
Three friends, James P. Joseph, Tom Foley, and Brian Griffin, conceived the race as a way to recognize James' bout and subsequent defeat of blood cancer. With the support of their law firms, Joseph Law Group, P.C. and Foley Griffin, LLP., the race has grown into an annual event with many runners, fun runners, and sponsors sustaining the race efforts.
