Freedom on the Farm
Inaugural 5K Run/Walk

In 2022, Greg Waxman, known as the Patriot Man because he runs with the American flag, and world-renowned wheel chair racer Peter Hawkins ran 50 miles around the village of Malverne in 8 hours to raise money for Veterans and First Responders. This year we invite everyone to run a 5k with us for the same great causes.

Parking: Please park on either Church Street, south of the Farm, off Ocean Ave,
or on the adjacent side streets and walk down Ocean Ave to the Farm.
Please do not block any fire hydrants or driveways.

AMENITIES

• Drawstring bag & rally towel guaranteed to the first 115 registrants
• Post-race refreshments
• Farm Stand and Farmers Market will be open from 9am- 1pm
• Packet of seeds from Crossroads Farm
• Free finish line photos. 
• There will be two food trucks attendees can purchase from: Trini Bites which serves Caribbean Food and Smokin’ Sandy Pineapple Food Truck which serves BBQ dishes.
• We are having two breweries:
  Barrier Brewery and Somerset Brewery
  Runners and spectators over 21 can purchase their delicious craft beers.

AWARDS

Awards will be a custom made tie/dye bag made with dye picked from flowers at the farm.
The award bag will contain some items from the farm stand as well as cold hard cash!
$25 for Overall winners & $10 for Malverne Resident, Veteran or First Responder & Age Group winners.

BENEFICIARY

We are raising funds for American Legion Post #44 to train a service dog for a local veteran in need, the scholarship in memory of Sgt. Winters of the Malverne Police Department, a donation to Paws of War, the Detective Steven McDonald Foundation and for Crossroads Farm.

• Hurry; Register 3 weeks in advance to get a personalized Race Number!

COURSE

The race starts and finishes at Crossroads Farm, the closest organic farm to New York City, in the picturesque Village of Malverne. The race route is fast and flat. It traverses through the bucolic village streets, looping through Westwood and past the Steven McDonald “Garden of Forgiveness,” then it’s a straight shot back to the farm through downtown Malverne.
